What is Free Shipping Allowance?

When you qualify as a shipping destination, 5% of your order value (excluding VAT) is credited towards your shipping costs. This allowance effectively makes your shipping free, so we call it the Free Shipping Allowance.

The Free Shipping Allowance is calculated on a per-order basis and cannot be accumulated across multiple orders. If your shipping cost is less than the allowance, your shipping is free. If it exceeds the allowance, you only pay the difference.

Please note, the Free Shipping Allowance only applies to counter sales atam.co.za® sales offices. Other retailers, such as the Buythis Online store, have similar schemes, but they are not directly affiliated with us.

Determining Eligible Areas

We use postal codes to determine eligible areas for the Free Shipping Allowance. However, due to the imprecision of the South African postal code system, there may be instances where eligible areas are not correctly identified. If you believe your area should qualify for the allowance but does not, please email us with the relevant information at postcode@am.co.za, so we can improve our system.

Disclaimer: Free Shipping Allowance is determined solely by the shipping costs associated with your area, based on data from our primary courier, Fastway. Eligibility for this allowance is not influenced by any factors other than shipping logistics and costs. As courier services improve, we aim to expand the Free Shipping Allowance to more areas. Conversely, some zones currently eligible may be excluded if shipping costs increase due to changes in courier services, and beyond our control.
