In our earlier videos, we went over pretty much everything about the Rollman Automatic Hot/Cold Laminator, except for one key thing: hot lamination. Today, we're diving into that, walking you through it step by step, showing how to dial in the temperature, and tossing in some tips for getting that flawless finish.

Flipping to Hot Lamination Mode

The control panel usually defaults to cold mode. To get the heat going, just hit the hot button. You'll see the display switch over, letting you know it's in heating mode now.

Then, take a look at your temp settings. In this case, it was showing 48°C as the target, but the actual temp was only 17°C. Tweaking it is easy—press the set button and bump the numbers up or down.

Picking the Best Temperature

What temp you go with really comes down to a couple things:

The room you're in:

If it's warm, drop the heat a bit.
If it's chilly, crank it up to make sure the lamination sticks properly.

The kind of vinyl:

Every vinyl's got its own heat limit. Some will start shrinking if it gets too hot. Check what the maker says. Like, if a vinyl handles up to 80°C before issues, 50°C should be fine. But if 50°C is its max, back off by 10-15°C to play it safe.

For this demo, we aimed for 50°C, which works okay for most indoor stuff.

First Try at 50°C
Once it hit 50°C, we ran a test with about 30 cm of vinyl. The outcome? Way more bubbles than with cold lamination.
Clearly, that temp wasn't cutting it for this vinyl.
Bumping It Up to 65°C
So, we raised it to 65°C and tried again. Boom—that did the trick. The vinyl came out bubble-free, super smooth and perfect.

Main Tips

Kick off with a test at a middle-of-the-road temp.
Tweak the heat up or down bit by bit until it clicks for your vinyl.
Keep in mind, vinyls vary—what's great for one might flop on another.
