But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make short and easy to watch problem-solving videos. Yeah, otherwise, if we head into the actual um tutorial here, should I say? I just wanna open some tabs. So now when it comes to actual vector programmes, there's a variety of different ones we can look at, but there's obviously a few key things to keep in mind when choosing a programme. So for the sake of this tutorial, I need a programme that can convert something or harass it to a vector and be able to edit it so I can clean it up. Now, in your case, you might only want to, let's say, clean it up. You're not to worry about, oh, sorry, um, uh, convert it. You're not to worry about cleaning it up, then there's some different options. Another factor to consider is pricing. So now you get some free, uh, how can I say, programmes that can do this, and you also get some paid ones. So maybe you already have one of the paid ones or you're doing this as a living, so everyday, then a paid one makes sense, but in my case, um, I've gotten so used to just using the free ones because I don't use it every single day. So now, from the free ones, um, I am a big fan of Inkscape. I've been using this for many, many years. Oops, let's not download that. But also, the reality is it's a little bit more advanced, so you kind of need to spend more time getting used to the programme, but also in return, there's a lot you can do. So this to me, is always a winner from the free options as a um a programme that can convert rasters to vector and you can edit them. Lately, I've been using Affinity. So this is a free programme or should I say semi-free cause they still require your uh login details. So kind of they, they, you buy it with information in many ways, but there's no surprise costs and stuff like that. Now, This one's pretty straightforward, a a little bit more simple and maybe also a bit more modern-looking, so it's easy to understand. So that's the one we're gonna be using for this tutorial. And um yeah, so if you wanna follow along, you can just use this, but the concept of converting, it's gonna be similar or universal throughout most of them. And then for paid versions, we have the Adobe, or sorry, should I say for another free version. We have this Adobe Express, so you can just Google Adobe Express PNG2 SVG Converter. Now, it does also do JPEG to SVG and then you can see this link here. You just click that, then it will open up. Now, it's gonna also require you to make a user at Adobe to use this, and it can be a bit tricky cause once you like it and you click confirm your design, then it's gonna ask you to pay, but you'll see it actually downloads a design in the background. So, um, this is another option, but like I said, this is just to convert, so you're still gonna need a form of editor if you wanna clean up your design. Now, when it comes to actual, um, Uh, paid ones. We obviously have Adobe Illustrator. Now, this can also get pricey, but you do have a free trial you can try. Now, likewise, we've got Coral Draw and then um you can also same thing, you can uh try it for free or maybe you own it and then you can use it. So, these two also have options to convert images or RSs to vector. Now, there's many other free options like you've got vectorizer.io which same thing, you know, it's gonna prompt you to pay, you know, but it will download in the background. Now that I'm thinking with this Adobe Express, I don't know if it's gonna pay, um, ask you to pay, but I've used it like once or twice. It's a bit tricky. It's all over the place unless you use a direct link to find the converter, you have to go in menus and so forth, so it's not. It's not the most uh convenient, but it is doable. But yeah, like I mentioned, so for this tutorial, we're gonna be using um Affinity. So if I open up here, you can see I've already got it installed. So if you wanna follow along, I'd recommend installing it, but like I said, they're gonna require some form of login details, so um in order to use it.
