We're gonna be looking at how to select objects with a selection too. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on software training dot see other. Today we make sure and easy to watch problem solving videos and we have daily updates. Otherwise, magnet programme here. Now, this is gonna be a miniseries on using different forms of selection. So today we're gonna be looking at the most common used one, which is selection tool. Now, I will also leave relevant links in the description so you guys can follow along otherwise, back in the programme here. Now, uh, you're selecting objects is obviously one of your most important features. You can say in a programme because in order to edit its values and so forth, you must be able to select it. So now what we've got here and our main toolbar on the left the top arrow is the selection arrow. Now, if you keep that in, you'll see there's another option select in. But today we're gonna just be looking at the basic selection tool and the hotkey for that is a so if you are on another tool, you can express a and ultimately swap to the selection, too. So I recommend get used to that shortcut because you do use it a lot. And then, uh, just a few features on it. So, obviously, just the basic. You can just click on the shape selected. And then if we have more than one shape, you can obviously click on the one you keep shifting. You click on the other one. You've got both objects selected. Then you can also drag rectangles over them. So if you click and hold anywhere as you can see, we drag a rectangle. Now there's two different ways that we can set the rectangles behaviour. So the one way, as you can see, if the selection just touches the shape, it will select it. Then another way is if it has to fully enclose the shape in order to be selected, so I'll share the differences. So with this one, I can kind of do this, and it will select both shapes for me now to change the setting. We can go on our selectable year on the left, and then we just double click the icon, and it will bring up the preferences for the two. So and you see on the drag selector we have fully by fully enclosing or by touching if I go to buy falling, closing. Okay, now, if I just select a portion, you'll see this actually does not select. It has to be completely open, So sometimes it's worked for can be nice because it's a bit more secure. But I do like using the other workflow now, another way, how we can change the settings. We go on our main menu on top, go to edit and we never go to Preferences. And under these tabs, I'm gonna go to tools and then we want to navigate down until we find Select two and then we can set those same sex. But by far the easiest way is just double clicking it. And now, once again, you can just select a portion, get some news, and I might have cancelled. So now we're going to select a portion, and then we'll select those settings. Otherwise, yeah, that is it on the selection tool. If we head here to software training, uh, we do have a variety of different Softwares we cover. And also you can isolate your search Looking for anything specific? If you, however, do not find what you're looking for, you can always go to request a training video. Then we will make that video for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and choose.", "Video Link": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNmk0093Xyk" } ``` ## English how-to (from dump Transcript) The dump `Transcript` is the step source for this page (auto-caption style kept as dump text; not invented). other guys in today's video Flexi starter.
