Use [Flashback Express](https://softwaretraining.co.za/flashback-express-screen-capture-videos) is most easy, and [Screenrecording with OBS Studio](https://softwaretraining.co.za/software-training-videos-obs-studios) gives you most control. If you haven't added mp4:faststart flag or you haven't saved the file in mp4 format, or you want to compress the file to make it smaller, you can process the video by HandBrake transcoder. We have a [training video for HandBrake transcoder](https://softwaretraining.co.za/handbrake-compressing-videos-web-optimized) here. Our logo animations can be [downloaded from our about page](https://softwaretraining.co.za/about). Please make sure you start the video with the key point your video is about shown inside the software, because we are going to use the first frame of the video you made at many index places. Now that you have a mp4 file on your desktop, let's create the webpage. ## WordPress Knowledge This website is based on WordPress, a popular system to create a website. We will take you through the process of how [WordPress Editor](https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-editor/) works in order to make training videos. [Gutenberg](https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/), the new editor from WordPress, in response to new responsive web designs, has become our default editor and you will also need to know how to use it for content creation. ## Create a New Webpage ### Title ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Untitled-2.gif) The title should be a short description based on what the video is about and should be: - Within 80 to 100 characters long; - Important information in the first 50-60 characters; - Capitalize important words. The general format is "What-Software Do-What for What-Purpose" or "Do-What in What-Software for What-Purpose" or "Do-What for What-Purpose in What-Software". Capitalize the main words, and use small letters for short preposition/conjunction words. ### Content #### Paragraphs About The Software ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image.png) Write two or more paragraphs to describe the goal that you would like to archive or the cause that leads to the video at the content by the default "Paragraph" block. Do not type the transcript of the video out as content, viewers need information beyond the video not video itself which they can just watch. #### Upload Video Find the "Video" block, add below the last paragraph you just wrote. ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-2.png) Then you need to press the "upload" button and upload the mp4 video that you just created. ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-3.png) Since our training videos are all short and small in size, it should only take a few seconds for the video to upload. ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-4.png) #### Add "More" Block Add a "More" block after the first paragraph. ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1.png) Afterwards, drag the "more" block to the end of the first paragraph so that it will look like this: ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-5.png) ### Post Settings Post settings can be found on the right-hand side of the panel (click the gear icon and it will show), and select "Post" tab, ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-6.png) #### Write Tags ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-8.png) We are using tags to highlight categories videos. You must input: - Software common name, e.g. Photoshop - Software vendor (developer) and common name, e.g. Adobe Photoshop - Vendor, common name and major version, e.g. Adobe Photoshop 2020 If the current video is platform or minor version-related, please create an additional tag as in the above format, but with further versioning, e.g. Adobe Photoshop 2020 x64. More tags solves the problem and process name etc can also added: e.g. Bitmap Vectorisation. #### Upload a Featured Image We need 'eye candy' to delight the viewer's mood. Since most viewers come with problems to solve, we are looking to our training videos to cheer them up with nice photos. These images are from 100% free-to-use stock photo websites like: [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/), [Pexels](https://www.pexels.com/) and [StockSnap](https://stocksnap.io/). ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-9-1030x541.png) Once you have found a photo that you like, just download it and save to your computer for uploading. Please do not change the filename when you save the file. We will use the filename to trace back to the original download placement in case a copyright argument occurs. ![](https://softwaretraining.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-10.png) #### Create a Ready Tag Within the above process, you can save as many times as you want. Save as draft won't trigger our internal publishing process. When you have done all above steps correctly and no more editing is needed, please add a special tag called AAA-Ready into your tags and save.
