The GoPrinter just landed, and we couldn’t wait to crack open the box and see what this little powerhouse can do. What’s Inside the Box

The GoPrinter arrives with everything you need to hit the ground running. Here’s what you’ll find when you open it up:

Once you’ve got everything out, toss the box aside and let’s get to work setting this thing up.

Getting the GoPrinter Ready

Step 1: Power It Up

First things first, let’s make sure the printer has some juice. Flip the power switch on the back to check the battery. If it’s low, grab the charger, plug it into a two-pin wall outlet, and connect it to the printer. The charging brick shows a green light when it’s fully charged and red when it’s still powering up. One cool thing? You can use the printer while it’s plugged in, even if the battery’s running low.

Step 2: Peel and Prep the Screen

The touchscreen comes with a protective film to keep it safe during shipping. Peel it off slowly—it’s oddly satisfying. Then, pick up the stylus that came in the box. The screen’s buttons can be a bit small, so the stylus makes it easier to tap accurately without scratching anything.

Step 3: Pop in the Ink Cartridge

The included cartridge is designed for non-absorbent surfaces, so it’s great for printing on stuff like metal or plastic where the ink stays on top. Here’s how to get it installed:

Step 4: Play with the Interface

With the cartridge in place, flip the printer back on. The touchscreen will show a few options, including an “Edit” mode. Use the stylus to tap “Edit” and poke around. You can type, tweak settings, or clear out whatever’s there. For this test, let’s wipe the default text and type something simple, like the letter “A.”

Quick tip: When you’re done typing, hit the green checkmark, not the “Enter” key. It’s a quirk you’ll get used to, but it makes sure your changes stick.

Step 5: Print Something

Time to see this thing in action! Select your text (“A” in this case) and hit the “Print” button or pull the printer’s trigger. Line it up on your surface—use the printing guide if you want a straight shot. Press the trigger again until you hear a beep, then slide the printer slowly to the right to print. Want to mix it up? You can print backward by hitting the trigger again after the beep and moving the printer the other way.

If all goes well, your test print should look sharp, proving the cartridge and printer are good to go.

Extras and Upkeep

Swapping the Battery

The GoPrinter’s lithium battery is built to last, but it’s also replaceable if it ever gives out. Just pull off the panel at the bottom of the handle, unplug the old battery, and plug in a new one. You can grab replacements from am.co.za.

Charging Made Easy

The two-pin charger is super straightforward, and being able to print while plugged in is a game-changer when you’re in a pinch. Just plug it in and keep going.

Keep the Cartridge Happy

To make your ink cartridge last longer, always power down the printer and remove the cartridge when you’re done. Pop it back into its protective case to keep the print head safe.

Using the Printing Guide

The printing guide is a no-frills tool that helps you keep your prints straight, especially on tricky surfaces or if your hand’s a bit wobbly.

Wrapping Up

This is just the start with the GoPrinter. It’s small but mighty, with a slick touchscreen and the ability to print on all sorts of surfaces. We’ve only scratched the surface here, so keep an eye out for more guides where we’ll dig into the software, cool features, and how to keep this printer in top shape.
