1. Set Up and Connect Your Printer

• First, ensure that the printer is connected to the computer.

• Locate the InkRip folder on your computer and open it. Scroll to "Full Colour" and select it. This is where you will create a new colour profile.

2. Create a New Colour Profile

• Click on “New” to start a new colour profile.

• In the setup window, configure the profile parameters:

Resolution: Use 700x1080 DPI.

• Colour Group: Choose CMYK.

• Print Media: Select "Vinyl."

• For naming, type the profile name in the “English Name” field, then copy it into the “Chinese Name” field as well (the software requires both fields to match to proceed).

• Leave calibration on linearisation and device on Pro One. Click “Next” to move on.

3. Ink Limiter Setup

• Connect the spectrophotometer to your computer. To use the spectrophotometer:

Place its wheels in the guide tracks on the ruler.

• Align the ruler with the line you’re measuring. Start from the white area just before the colour line, press the thumb button, drag across, and end in the white area at the end of the colour line.

• A green light signals a successful reading. If it flashes red, repeat the scan.

• In Ink Limiter, select "Scan Chart" and print the chart.

• Once printed, click “Measure” and scan each line on the printout with the spectrophotometer. The software will adjust ink limits based on the measurements, which helps reduce wasted ink.

4. Linearisation

• Print a new linearisation chart. After printing, click “Measure Chart.”

• In the new window, press “Start Measure” and conduct all necessary measurements. When finished, click “OK.”

• A graphical representation of colour adjustments will appear, allowing you to print a sample for visual inspection if desired.

5. Mixed Ink Limit Adjustment

• Print the mixed ink limit chart, then inspect the results visually.

• Adjust the colours to reduce bleed where necessary, and if satisfied, click “Print Line Chart.”

• Once printed, click “Finish” to move to the next step.

6. Creating the ICC Profile

• In the “Solutions” window, select the profile you are creating. At the top, click on “Tool IC” and choose “Create ICC.”

• Click “Print Chart,” then measure each line on the printout using the spectrophotometer.

• Once done, hover over the “Create ICC” button, which should now be active. Make any final adjustments if needed, then click “Create ICC.”
