# Sublimation printed wallet how-to videos (AM training / support)

**Job:** a folded fabric wallet with a full-colour sublimation print, copied from a bought wallet that turned out to be sublimation printed. The video takes the bought wallet apart to get its shape, lays the artwork out in Photoshop on a template a little bigger than A4, prints it on sublimation paper, presses it onto a woven polyester banner material on a **swing-away heat press**, cuts the card slot and sends it to a CMT (cut, make and trim) sewing service to be stitched. This index collects the AM main-channel upload of this guide that was not yet listed in another AM how-to index. Deduplicated by watch ID across all AM how-to index pages (channel indexes alone do not count as how-to coverage).

**Source:** local AM YouTube dump `youtube.jsonl` (main channel; refreshed 2026-10-18 00:25 SAST) and the Buythis product dump `buythis.jsonl`. First written 2026-10-18 19:21 SAST with 1 video. **YouTube and Buythis were not crawled.** The title and watch URL below are taken from the dump as written. The video was **not** watched. It has an English transcript in the dump, and the steps below are paraphrased from it only. Nothing was invented to fill gaps.

## English dump title (1 unique watch URL)

AM-channel uploads are framed as **AM training/support sources**. Each watch URL is a source.

### Print your own wallet (about 15 minutes)

Paraphrased from the dump transcript:

**Why this works, and one warning**

- The presenter bought an overseas wallet made to look like a banknote and noticed it was sublimation printed, so the same product can be made with AM sublimation equipment.
- Printing money is illegal, so the video uses its own AI-generated artwork (chosen so it is not copyrighted) instead of a banknote design.

**Take the sample apart to get the shape**

1. Unpick the stitching on the bought wallet and note how it was made: the edges are folded in and stitched, there are two small flaps on either side where it folds to be stitched, and there is a stiffener inside made of plain packaging cardboard, the kind found in a cereal box.
2. Laid flat, the piece is about the size of an A4 sheet, a little longer. That means no roller press or large press is needed: a normal **swing-away heat press** from AM is enough.

**Lay out the artwork (Photoshop)**

3. The bought wallet alternates the front and back of the note so both the inside and outside show the design when folded. The video instead runs one artwork across the whole piece.
4. Size the artwork to the measured piece: **325 mm high** (300 mm plus 25 mm) and **195 mm wide**, then go a little bigger, because sublimation fabric shrinks when pressed. The artwork does not need to stay in proportion.
5. Crop the page to the artwork and divide the length into four equal sections with guide lines: 325 ÷ 4 is about **81.25 mm** per section, so guides at about 81.25, 162.5 and 243.75 mm. It does not need to be exact.
6. Add the stitching flaps: about **10 mm extra on each side**, taking the width from 195 to 205 and then 215 mm. Fill each flap by selecting a 10 mm strip next to it, using **Layer via Copy**, moving it out and mirroring it with Ctrl+T so the pattern looks continuous.
7. Plan the **card slot** (a hole on the inside so cards can go in). It can be left out, but then the wallet only holds notes.
8. Cut a piece of cardboard to the wallet size as the stiffener. The presenter recommends trimming the cardboard back where the stitching will go, otherwise the edges eventually fray.
9. Save as a **JPEG** and send it to the sublimation printer.

**Print and press**

10. Print on sublimation paper, then cut out one print so it fits the banner weave material and the smaller heat press.
11. Press setting read out in the video: **200 °C for a minimum of 90 seconds**.

**Card slot and stitching**

12. Fold the pressed piece in half to line up where the card slot goes and cut it out. The presenter cut it by hand for the video but says it **should be done on a laser** so it is accurate; otherwise print an outline in the artwork as a cutting guide.
13. Send it to a CMT service for stitching. The finished wallet worked as planned, with strong colours, and the presenter suggests it as a Christmas gift product.

The video ends with AM's standard closing clip about its showrooms in Sunnyrock (Johannesburg) and Montague Gardens (Cape Town).

## Related SKUs (Buythis dump only; no prices, no stock)

Product names come from the Buythis product dump (`buythis.jsonl`; **not crawled**). Prices and stock are not stored on this index. The video does not name exact models or the printer used. It shows a swing-away heat press, sublimation paper and woven banner fabric, and recommends a laser for the card slot. The rows below are current Buythis products of those types; the print is about 215 × 325 mm, so it needs A3 paper rather than A4. No banner weave fabric, sewing machine or CMT service is listed in the Buythis dump. Check each product page before quoting.

## Notes

- Matching: main-channel dump upload titled "Print Your Own Wallet!", minus any video already in another AM how-to index page. Channel indexes listing the same watch URL do not count as how-to coverage.
- The sizes and the 200 °C / 90 second press setting are the ones read out in the video for its sample, fabric and paper. Test on an offcut first, because results depend on the fabric, paper and ink.
- Do not print banknotes or other copyrighted artwork; the video itself warns that printing money is illegal.
- Quote current specifications and prices from the product page, never from the videos.
- Live stock is never stored here; check the live stock feed for availability.
