## What this firmware is

V-Smart / V-Smart+ vinyl cutters use a **USB flash tool** (`update_fw_2.2.exe`) with an `update.dss` payload (plus support DLLs: `mfc100.dll`, `msvcr100.dll`, `STUARTBLLIB.dll`). Packages are labeled by controller family and version:

- **V3_…** — V-Smart V3 series
- **TH_FU_A_V3+_…** — V-Smart+ (V3+) family

Prefer the **newest matching family** when support directs an update (**newer wins** by version number: **7.68 > 7.66 > 7.65**; Plus line has its own **7.64** package). Wrong-family flash risk — only when support directs. Support WhatsApp +27 60 600 7000.

There is **no controller firmware tree** on this product. Local `Firmware/` and `Firmwares/` are absent; live both return **HTTP 404**. This file is a **drivers** index named firmware-index to match the Vinyl4 dest convention.

## What these drivers are

Vinyl4 talks to Windows as a **USB printer-class** device (UniDrv stack: `InstallPrinterD.dll` + `CutToolPro.exe` + `InstallDriver\` unidrv files). There is no year-sticker USB/COM family split like V-Series (no CH341 / PL2303 / STM VCP tree in this folder).

**Prefer the 2024 ZIP packages** over the 2016 standalone EXEs (**newer wins** inside the same x64/x86 family). Wrong-arch install can leave the cutter invisible -- only when support directs. Support WhatsApp +27 60 600 7000.

V-Auto vinyl cutters use a **USB flash tool** (`update_fw_2.2.exe`, older packages also ship `update_fw_2.1.exe`) with an `update.dss` payload (plus support DLLs: `mfc100.dll`, `msvcr100.dll`, `STUARTBLLIB.dll`). Packages live as version folders **004.32F** and **004.33F** (no ZIP twins).

Prefer **004.33F** when support directs an update (**newer wins**: `update.dss` dated 2017-10-24 vs 2017-04-18 on 004.32F). Wrong-version flash risk - only when support directs. Support WhatsApp +27 60 600 7000.

There is **no** product-root `Firmware/` or `Firmwares/` directory (local absent; live **404**). Use `V-Auto Firmware Upgrade Software\`.

V-series vinyl cutters 2013 and 2014 models can only be installed as a printer on Windows 7 and other lower versions of windows

**Symptom:**

The cutting head does not travel all the way across the cutting area or gets stuck on the far left hand side of the vinyl cutter.

**Solution:**

The V-Smart Vinyl Cutter model type has changed, since the device is digitally controlled, this can be changed using the LCD Screen and the Control Buttons. To change the model type of the device, firstly, press the LEFT button to move the Cutting Head away from the Home position (far left of the device), then switch off the V-Smart using the On/Off switch, then turn the V-Smart on again, as the device is turned On, quickly look at the LCD Screen to view the boot information for the device, this contains the firmware version, model type and ID of the device:

Press the MENU button while the boot screen is displayed, this will then change the MODEL TYPE on the LCD Display, as shown below:

Keep pressing the MENU button until the correct MODEL TYPE is displayed for the device, then press the ENTER button on the keypad to accept the selection.

The MODEL TYPE has now been changed to the corresponding type of the device and the cutting area and movement of the Cutting Head will now be correct.

**How To Add/Setup a V-Smart Vinyl Cutter?**

Connect the **Blue USB Cable** that purchasing the**V-Smart Vinyl Cutter** to your **Computer**and**Switch ON**the V-Smart Vinyl Cutter .

**After Installing** Flexi Software, **Open** your **Production Manager Software.**

**Click** on **Setup** on the **Task Menu** on top. **Click** on **Add Setup, a Window will appear,**(See Picture Below)

For **ALL V-Smart Vinyl Cutters,** the **Brand Name** should always be at**AM.CO.ZA** and then you **Select the Model** of your Cutter depending on its **Size.**Then you**Click**on**Next.**(See Picture Below)

**Make Sure** that you**Select** the **Correct Option** that is being **Used** to **Connect** your V-Smart Vinyl Cutter to your Computer, then **Click** on **Finish**: (See Picture Below)

Then simply **Remove** the **Blade Holder** from the **Carriage** **Before** you do a **Test Cut. Right Click**on**V-Smart V3-440 and Select Test Cut.**

This is a great feature if you have a large project with many layers, and you keep feeling a bit lost.

Like the Locking and Unlocking feature the Show and Hide Layers and Shapes will prevent unwanted editing on them, but not only that you also able to clear up the workflow or isolate a part of the design for working on.

Hi guys. In today's video, I'll cut. We'll be looking at showing and hiding shapes and objects. Otherwise, let's have a quick intro first. Yeah, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover and we upload videos daily. So just keep your eye there for any new content. Otherwise, back in the programme here now I'm showing and hiding layers. This is quite a fancy and, uh, not so much fancy, but a handy feature to have. So if you're working on a design and you want to hide some layers while you care and working, so it's not distracting, it's not in a way you can do that or you can hide it. For if it's a template or anything like that, you can just simply hide it and show it. So I'm like that there's a few ways to do it, but the most simple ways we'll never get to our layers panel. Then you can simply just click on this eye, and it will hide the layers you don't want to see. So you click at once and I will disappear. Now it's here, and you click it again and we'll come back the same with groups. If you open a group, got the individual shapes you can hide individual shaped within the group. Also quite convenient. Then what we've got on the latest tabun on top of that little button. Then same way we can go show and then we've got Show all layers and we've got to hide or layers and toggle there. So show layers already on. Go hide all layers. Well, obviously remove all of them. Let's say we've got the mouth but we wanted to top shapes instead of the mouth. Then you can go there, got to show and hide and we go to toggle All layers now will only show the heart and the flower. Then another way we can do this is that you select the shape you want to hide. Then we go on top of that object and then we navigate down to height. Say, if you click that then you can no longer see that shit to show it again. You were once again we go to object. We navigate down to show up. Keep in mind if you have more than once shape selected you can do the same thing and it will hide those shapes. But if you want to bring back only one shape the object, we only have short haul. Then just navigate your layers panel and then you just show the shape you want. Back then, another way you can do it is we click. Select the shape and you right click it then at the bottom Here you will see we've got the show. Hide and show, Paul. Now keep in mind if you want to show all from the right click menu, it won't work. If you right click on the canvas or the mat, we'll have to have a shape selected and right click and you say Sure all otherwise, yeah, that is the basics on showing and hiding lates. Now I can see a very handy feature and you use it a lot like the locking and unlocking feature. Otherwise, if we were to final cut, uh, the programme is freely available here. ‌The first step, as always is to start with the design and the template. We already have the designs, and we just needed to add in some logos, as well as the dots for the holes to be drilled for the signs that need it.

Next, we are ready to print, using a [UV Large Format Printer](https://buythis.co.za/f1-1604-hybrid#ai). We have chosen a [UV printer](https://buythis.co.za/f1-1804d-hybrid#ai) as the client has mentioned that the sign will be outside and will get a lot of Sun. UV ensures that the ink will have a good lifespan without fading or discolouration.

Once the vinyl is printed, we need to cut parts which are not needed, such as the white around the red border. Once this is done, we will be laminating the vinyl using a [Rollman Lamintor](https://buythis.co.za/laminators#ai).

Now we are ready to drill the holes, using a drill press so that the customer can cable tie the signage. When drilling into ABS, it is best to use the highest speed and one continuous movement, to ensure that you get a clean hole and no cracks.
