  3. To get graphics in: create the graphics; the tutorial uses a PNG with a transparent background. Drag and drop that PNG straight into the programme. The job then shows settings including status on holding from the output defaults set earlier.
  4. Right-click the job and choose job properties. That opens a dialogue box. Depending on the default printer settings, the graphic may be very big or very small. Adjust job size (width / height). Use percentage is named; proportional is off by default; the tutorial turns proportional on. Fit media fits the graphic to the canvas automatically if the size is known.
  5. With the graphic selected, grab the handles to scale; double-click the middle to rotate (full circle); click and drag to move. If scaling warps the image, turn proportional on so proportions stay relative to the imported image. The tutorial scales the PNG up and centres it. That is the basic layout.
  6. Channel output preview (named on the live block as the control on top). First select preview output channels so the outputs of the channel can be seen (the live block says it takes a little while to load). If you know CMYK (live-block spelling includes "CNYK"; not rewritten), the channels are visible. Checkboxes preview multiple channels together or one at a time. All on / all off is named; all off does not preview.
  7. At the bottom of that panel the live block names spot white and spot varnish. Those are the important channel rows for later custom white and varnish channels. Clicking them shows the current white layer and the current varnish layer, so you can see what will be varnished and what will be white.
