How to delete a shape in FabriCAM CAD (from this page)

  1. Deleting a shape is a common CAD step. The leftover page ties this to there being no undo / redo in CAD, so a wrong size or placement is often removed rather than edited (more advanced edit methods exist and are later).
  2. A single click while a primitive or placement tool is still active does not select the shape. Click twice so the shape itself is selected.
  3. Select on the blue lines. Clicking elsewhere does nothing. You can also drag a selection box around the shape.
  4. If you cannot select, click Pan, then click Pan again to deactivate the active tool, then select the shape.
  5. With the shape selected, press Delete on the keyboard (above the arrow keys, or on the numpad next to Enter). Same key as in most other programmes.
  6. There is no undo and no Ctrl+Z to bring the shape back. Do not delete recklessly unless you do not mind placing the shape again.
  7. Recap: select only the shape(s) you want to delete, then press Delete.
