How to edit a shape in FabriCAM CAD (from this page)

  1. Edit shape / edit parts is one of the handiest CAD tools, because CAD has no undo / redo. The leftover page ties this to the previous delete-a-shape lesson: deleting is permanent.
  2. Example from the leftover block: add a primitive (500 by 400, positioning single, leave the other options, OK). Then you realise the size should have been 500 by 500, or you need a different location or rotation.
  3. Instead of deleting the shape, select it, then double-click a selected line / corner. The leftover block says the pointer becomes a plus when selection is ready.
  4. Double-click opens the same options used when the shape was placed: origin, width, height, rotation, and location.
  5. Change width and height to 500 by 500, then OK. The leftover block says the shape updates in place to a 500 by 500 square.
  6. Recap: have a selection ready (icon changes to plus), click the shape, double-click the corner, then edit. Use this instead of deleting when you only need to adjust size, rotation, or location.
