  5. Build the white channel from the whole graphic plus the white block; build the varnish channel from the whole graphic plus the varnish block (or only the blocks, depending on the job). Make a selection: right-click the layer icon then Select Pixels, or Ctrl-click the layer icon (marching ants). Add another layer with Ctrl+Shift-click. Then Select > Inverse (or Ctrl+Shift+I) so everything except those two graphics is selected.
  6. Go to the Channels tab. Next to the dustbin, create a new channel. With the Paint Bucket tool and foreground colour white, fill that new channel. If the layer is locked, deselect and re-select. Name that channel exactly white (live-block spelling; FlexiPRINT will not recognise it otherwise). Repeat for varnish: deselect, select the graphic plus the varnish layer with Shift, invert, new channel, paint-bucket white, name that channel exactly varnish.
  7. Recap named on this page: make new layers for the white you want; use selection then invert. Everything you want to hide is white on the channel (the live block says this is kind of opposite to most channels); the colour you want is black.
