How to export the image to CMYK in CorelDRAW (from this page)

The live page body is short; the on-page "Video Transcript" block is the step source. Raw auto-caption is not copied in full; no transcript invented. Cleaned steps from that live block:

  1. This Printing CMYK to CMY with Fake K part is about exporting the made image to CMYK with a fake K in CorelDRAW so it can be used for print. The live block says exporting to RGB (or similar) adds K back, and printing then still has black missing because it converts back to black.
  2. Select both layers: the CMY image without K, and the fake-K layer. Click the parent layer/group box, or Shift-click both layers. The live block has seen export of only one layer.
  3. File → Export (not Save). Shortcut Ctrl+E. Use the normal Export, not Export for.
  4. Choose the destination folder. Format: JPEG / JPEG bitmap, because it allows export to CMYK.
  5. Click Export, confirm overwrite if asked. Wait for the preview. Settings vary if you pick Custom versus other modes.
  6. Most important: under settings set Colour mode to CMYK (not Grayscale, not RGB). Grayscale or RGB would add a new fake black. An eyedropper on the preview may still show K as a display representation; that is not the file.
  7. Optional darker black: duplicate the top multiply fake-K layer (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V, or right-click Copy / Paste), select the layers again, and export with the same CMYK JPEG settings.
  8. Confirm in another programme (the live demo opens the JPEG in Photoshop): colour picker on darks reads K 0. Duplicating the multiply layer adds contrast/detail without adding K.
  9. Recap from the live block: select both layers, File → Export as JPEG bitmap, colour mode CMYK, optional duplicate multiply for more contrast, then confirm K 0.
