How to use Gcode Preview (from this page)

This Part 2 is Preview in PrintUP, second of the Finalizing Your Channel Letter Designs mini-series (body Mini-Series points at already-ingested Designs INDEX WP 28632; body previous points at already-ingested Slice and Save Part 1 WP 28633). Preview sits on the Finalising toolbar with slice and save.
  2. Preview stays greyed out until a Gcode exists. After setup, click Slice first (as Part 1 showed); Preview then becomes available.
  3. Open Preview full screen. 3D navigation matches the rest of PrintUP, at slightly higher detail so layers of the base, step height, and the floor base (extra support) are visible.
  4. Top-left estimate on the live demo: time 0 hours 4 minutes 15 seconds, plus filament length in millimetres. Shortcuts match already-ingested basic 3D navigation.
  5. Right-side layer bar: the live demo shows 24 layers. Drag the right bar down to walk from the ground up; drag the bottom bar left/right to walk steps inside the current layer.
  6. Preview can show colour layers that the normal view hides. Settings at the bottom: Extruder colour vs Structure (structure is similar but red, with more spacing, plus travel time). Only current layer isolates the active layer. Show retraction marks retraction points. Show travel move draws the travel path (the live demo starts bottom-left, hits a circle, then returns).
  7. Closing Preview hides those layers and the fine detail of the step and grid. Use Preview to refine before print. The live closer also names softwaretraining.co.za search (top or right) and the on-site request-a-training-video form if a video is missing.
